5 Days

Day 1: Marrakech – Asni – Ijoukak – Tizi N’Test Pass – Taroudant

Begin your journey from Marrakech, heading west into the heart of the Atlas Mountains. The route takes you through a series of charming hamlets and vast, captivating landscapes. Your first notable stops will be in the villages of Asni and Ijoukak, situated along the dramatic Tizi N’Test Pass—the second highest in Morocco. This pass cuts through the High Atlas, linking Marrakech with the Sous plains and the desert beyond. A key highlight of the day is the visit to the historic Tin-Mal Mosque, a 12th-century monument that echoes the design of Marrakech’s Koutoubia Mosque. Tin-Mal, once the base of the Almohads, is where they launched their conquest of Morocco. Afterward, your drive continues through the mountains and Argan tree fields, before arriving in Taroudant by late afternoon.

Day 2: Taroudant – Tafraoute – Sidi ifni

After breakfast at your hotel, you’ll have time to explore Taroudant, often dubbed “Little Marrakech” for its vibrant colors and narrow streets. Though small, the town’s main attractions include its ancient ramparts, the bustling Medina, and lively souks. Afterward, you’ll set off again, passing through scenic Argan fields where you might catch sight of goats climbing the trees to feed. Continuing your journey, you’ll cross the mountains to reach Tafraoute, a charming village nestled in the Ameln Valley within the Anti-Atlas range. Surrounded by striking red-granite rocks, Tafraoute is one of Morocco’s most serene and picturesque destinations. After lunch, you’ll head to Sidi Ifni, arriving by late afternoon to settle into your hotel.

Day 3: Sidi Ifni – Souss-Massa National Park – Agadir

Start your day with a morning stroll through Sidi Ifni, a small coastal town known for its Spanish influence and unique Art Deco architecture. Wander its beautifully decorated streets and take in the sweeping sea views from its cliff-top location. After exploring, your journey continues north along the coast, passing through Mirhleft and Tiznit en route to Agadir. Before reaching Agadir, you’ll stop at the Souss-Massa National Park, a sanctuary of rich biodiversity. The park is home to various plant species, mammals, and birds, with its lagoon—Massa Lagoon—being a haven for flamingos, ducks, and other waterfowl. You’ll arrive in Agadir by late afternoon, where you’ll check into your hotel.

Day 4: Agadir – Taghazout – Essaouira

After breakfast, you’ll explore three main attractions in Agadir. First, visit the Valley of the Birds, a lush green park that’s home to a variety of bird species, a small zoo, a waterfall, and a children’s playground. From there, you can stroll down to the beach and enjoy the sea breeze. Next, head to the historic Kasbah, perched atop a hill on the northern edge of the city, offering panoramic views of Agadir and the coast. After soaking in the views, you’ll drive towards Essaouira, stopping by the renowned surfing village of Taghazout. By late afternoon, you’ll arrive in Essaouira, where you’ll check into your hotel.

Day 5: Essaouira – Marrakech

Essaouira, with its laid-back atmosphere, is an ideal place to spend a relaxing day. In the morning, explore the old Medina, with its beautifully decorated streets, traditional markets, and artisanal workshops offering jewelry, woodwork, and art. Don’t miss a visit to the harbor and a walk along the beach. For lunch, you’ll have a wide range of cafes and restaurants to choose from, many offering fresh seafood. After lunch, you’ll head back to Marrakech, arriving by mid-afternoon.
