Marakech-Ait Ben Haddou- Zagora-Chigaga

Day 1: Marrakesh to Zagora

Morning, Depart from Marrakesh early around 8:00 AM, Drive through the High Atlas Mountains via the famous Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2260 m), offering panoramic views and stops for pictures of the Berber villages.Midday Stop for lunch at Aït Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Explore the ancient ksar (fortified village), a backdrop for many famous movies. Afternoon Continue your journey towards Zagora, passing through the Draa Valley, famous for its palm groves and traditional Berber villages. Arrive in Zagora in the late afternoon. Explore the town briefly and visit the Tamegroute Library, which holds ancient manuscripts.

Evening, Overnight stay at a traditional riad or desert camp near Zagora. Enjoy a Moroccan dinner and rest for the night.

Day 2: Zagora to Chigaga Dunes

Morning ,After breakfast, depart from Zagora, heading deeper into the desert towards M’hamid, the gateway to the Sahara. Visit Erg Lihoudi, a smaller dune before Chigaga.

Midday ,Have a traditional lunch at a local desert auberge in M’hamid. Prepare for your journey into the real desert: switch to a 4×4 for the off-road adventure. Afternoon, Continue driving through the rocky desert and barren landscapes to reach the Erg Chigaga Dunes, the largest and most remote sand dunes in Morocco. Arrive at the camp in time to climb the dunes and witness the spectacular sunset over the Sahara. Experience camel riding or sandboarding on the dunes. Evening, Spend the night in a luxury desert camp or a more traditional Berber camp, with private tents. Enjoy a traditional Berber dinner under the stars with live music and storytelling around the campfire.

Day 3: Chigaga Dunes to Marrakech

You will leave the camp after breakfast and cross the desert (3 hours driving offroad) via the dry Iriki Lake to reach Foum Zguid where you will stop for a coffee. You will then drive towards Taznakhet, the berber carpet capital, where you can stop to visit the women cooperative for making berber carpets. After that , Continue the scenic drive through the High Atlas Mountains to Marrakech .
