ITINERARY 4 DAYS TOUR FROM MARRAKECH TO FES
Day 1: Fez – Ifrane – Cedar Forest – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga
We begin our 4 days desert tour from Fez to Marrakech via the Sahara desert at 8:00 a.m. We travel to Midelt through the Middle Atlas Mountains and cedar forests. We pass through Ifrane, also known as “Little Switzerland” because of its European architecture, weather, and cleanliness. Then to Azrou, a significant handicraft center specializing in cedar woodwork. We arrive in Midelt, the apple capital, for lunch. We’ll drive to Erfoud and into the desert in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight in a hotel near the Erg Chebbi Sahara dunes.
Day 2: Merzouga – Visit of the Erg Chebbi desert – Camel trek – Camp
After breakfast, we travel to Khamlia village to listen to live Gnawa music, then take an off-road road tour of the dunes and stop for tea with nomads in Berber tents, where you will discover a new way of life and enjoy a Berber pizza for lunch. Back to the hotel to relax before beginning your camel ride into the dunes to see the sunset, then after arriving at the camp, enjoy a mint tea and the beautiful Sahara sunset before being shown to your beautiful tents with ensuite bathroom and shower while dinner is being
prepared. After dinner, you can enjoy a musical performance by the staff around a fire while contemplating the Sahara’s starry night.
Day 3: Merzouga – Todra Valley – Dades Valley– Ouarzazate :368Km
Get up early to see the spectacular sunrise, which features the color of the dunes and the play of shadows. Arriving at the hotel/riad for breakfast and to take a shower. We will continue to Ouarzazate via Rissani, stopping in Erfoud, which is famous for its fossilized marbles, and where you will be able to visit the marble fossil workshop. Continue to the Todra Gorges, which are ideal for exploring on your own. After lunch, take a drive through Roses, Kelaa Mgouna. We continue along the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, passing through the Skoura palm grove until we arrive in Ouarzazate, Morocco’s “Hollywood,” and check into our hotel/riad.
Day 4: Ouarzazate– Marrakech :204km
We travel to At Benhaddou, a “fortified city” located on the former caravan route connecting the Sahara and Marrakech. It is located on a hill along the Ouarzazate River and features some beautiful kasbahs, some of which are still inhabited. The site, which has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, has served as the backdrop for numerous films, including Lawrence of Arabia and Gladiator. We continue to Marrakech via the high Atlas mountains after stopping for lunch.
